ReviewsUser: lion_cub The fact that no-one has been sued yet is beside the point. Just because someone has'nt been sued does'nt vindicate this practice. At the very least, you should acknowledge the site from where these came from. User: goatt You are an idiot. Anything used non-commercially generally falls under fair-usage. These breaks have been sampled constantly since the mid-80's. If the original creators had a problem with it, surely they would have not waited 20 years. You are a moron. It is up to an artist. If the artists don't care, it's not stealing, ok. If I leave something on the curb that says "I don't care if you use it for something", the police aren't going to arrest them. As you mature as a person, hopefully you'll be able to see exactly what I am talking about. Let's hope that happens. There are sites that not only post the breaks, they tell you the artist and album, and guess what? The artists don't care! These sites aren't hidden, nobody's being sneaky or dishonest if they're not trying to conceal that something is, in fact, sampled. In regards to a commercial release, to your surprise, I'd side with you. Yes, that's right. You heard correctly. I've made all kinds of song with all kinds of different samples, and if I were to profit from these in any way, shape, or form, I'd feel guilty if I didn't notify the original artists. But I'm not going to feel guilty if I made something for my own personal enjoyment, and maybe the enjoyment of a few other like-minded people. That's what I make it for. Not to become all rich and famous, because it's something that I enjoy, and I hope maybe some others might as well. That's supposed to be the reason to be any kind of artist. Clearly you have not developed the artistic mindset, because the genuine artists tend to see the whole picture, as opposed to their narrow, slanted, poorly-informed "opinions". Behind every supposedly "moral" act, by a supposedly "concerned" person lies ignorance and prejudice. Go to any church in town. They will accept you. They like narrowminded people.
